Children Writing For Children is a NonProfit organization. Please note the following guidelines with care and diligence. The editors will not review manuscripts that are not properly submitted. We do not accept original art, so please mail photocopies of all art and text. All entries remain property of CWC and cannot be returned nor will they be used without the consent of the author. CWC has neither the funds nor work force to return submissions, so please make sure that you mail photocopies only.

Submissions:

     CWC is open to all students in all grades. The story line must match our mission statement which is as follows: Children Writing for Children (CWC) is a NonProfit corporation established to educate the public at large about children's issues through literary works created by children and to celebrate and share the talents of children as authors. CWC is especially attuned to those children who are economically and socially disadvantaged or who have special educational needs. A sponsor, teacher or librarian must sign the manuscript to verify its authenticity. Do not fax or e-mail submissions. Each page of your manuscript must have your name and page number at the top of the page.

Format: Picture or Nonfiction Book: Manuscripts may have multiple authors, contain no more than 48 bound pages (stapled, glued, etc.) with or without illustrations, typed or neatly handwritten on only 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper.

Content: Any issues that children confront. No violence, profanity, racial slurs or pornographic material is accepted.

Art: Any medium is acceptable. We only accept color and/or B&W copies of art. Do not send ORIGINALS, please.

Cover Letter: Manuscripts must be accompanied by a cover letter, which includes school name, address, and phone; writer's name, address, phone, grade and age; and parent's, teacher's or librarian's name and signature for verification.
